Welcome to our School!

Welcome to the St. Mary’s BNS website. Our website has lots of information and it links to our school Instagram page so hopefully you can find information quickly and easily and keep up-to-date with what’s happening at St. Mary’s BNS.

St. Mary’s BNS is a large suburban school situated on the edge of Maynooth town centre. The school caters for pupils at all class levels, from junior infants to 6th class and has an enrolment of over 600 pupils. The school building was recently redeveloped – a new 3-storey, 24-classroom school opened on 9th November 2022 on the site of the old school playground. As part of the redevelopment, the school opened a special needs unit, Croí na Coille, which caters for boys with autism. The new building is bright, spacious and state-of-the-art!

There is a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the school and we value and respect all members of the school community. Our primary focus is on our pupils and we aim to provide each child with a broad and holistic child-centred education that is fun, active and engaging. We value each pupil’s individuality and personality and take great care to nurture and develop their strengths and talents during their time at the school; everyone is welcome and everyone can succeed at St. Mary’s BNS, Maynooth.

In September 2023, a team of inspectors from the Dept. of Education carried out a Whole School Evaluation. Their findings are available to view here.
